The Peers Reaching Out and Modeling Intervention Strategies (PROMISE) for High-Impact Prevention (HIP) training course prepares public health professionals and community leaders to implement an effective, peer-led HIV prevention intervention.

This community-level program uses relatable role model stories and peer advocates to successfully reduce HIV risk behaviors while increasing active engagement throughout the continuum of care. Participants master the four core pillars of the framework by learning to manage community engagement, create tailored role model stories, mobilize peer advocates, and execute formative evaluations.

Learning Objectives: 

• Describe the importance of implementing the PROMISE for HIP intervention.
• Identify at least two behavioral theories used to develop the PROMISE for HIP intervention.
• Name the four core elements of PROMISE for HIP intervention.
• Identify the three activities of the community identification process (CID).
• Identify the eight components of developing a role model story.
• List at least five characteristics of a peer advocate.

Covering Costs of HIV PrEP

During this self-paced e-learning module, participants will review three cost components of HIV PrEP, and sources of insurance, and other key tools that PrEP educators can use to help their clients cover those costs and evaluate different options for covering costs based on the needs of clients in various situations.
