Strategies for Implementing Sexual History Taking into Clinical Practice is a 60-minute E-Learning module for clinicians and staff who will be introduced to the barriers that commonly impact sexual history taking implementation as well as the strategies for overcoming them to implement it in clinical settings. Pharmacists, doctors, nurses, licensed clinical social workers, community health workers, and medical staff are trusted members of their communities and often guide patients and consumers to HIV/STI/viral hepatitis prevention and treatment, including disease management and harm reduction.
Educational Objectives
After completing this activity, the participant will be better able to:
- Identify three (3) benefits of incorporating sexual history taking into patient visits
- List three (3) key challenges that can affect the quality and consistency of effective sexual history taking
- Identify five (5) strategies for implementing effective sexual history taking
- Identify how interprofessional collaboration supports effective sexual history taking in the care setting
