Stimulants and Psychosis: Etiology, Epidemiology, and Management

This course highlights the prevalence and causes of stimulant-based psychosis, describes how to care for a patient experiencing stimulant-based psychosis, and provides resources for individuals who experience this type of psychosis.

This course is jointly provided by the Postgraduate Institute for Medicine, HealthHIV, and the District of Columbia Department of Behavioral Health.


Learning Objectives
  1. Identify the epidemiology and presentation of stimulant induced psychosis
  2. Discuss the diagnosis, management, treatment, and treatment responses of acute amphetamine induced psychosis
  3. Identify best practices for ongoing care of chronic amphetamine psychosis
