- The researchers in this study observe gut bacteria and the microbiome to see its impact on those aging with HIV. It found a significant link between the microbiome and its impact on the rest of the body and how changing the bacteria in those aging with AIDS can cause less inflammation and problems in the body. From here, research and policy can be guided to clinical trials surrounding gut health and directing physicians to be on the lookout for how the gut affects health.
