HealthHIV is seeking undergraduate or graduate school-level interns. Potential interns must be available to work at least 20 hours each week. Interns will be compensated hourly, commensurate with experience. An internship at HealthHIV offers many learning opportunities in a variety of areas. Interns should have an interest in HIV/AIDS, welcome working in a diverse environment, and be able to multitask efficiently and effectively.

HealthHIV Medical Education designs and implements certified medical education that is responsive to the education and training needs of clinicians, allied health workers, the public health workforce, and patients. The dynamic medical education is offered in a variety of formats to a diverse audience of clinicians and allied health professionals. Education topics include: HIV prevention and PrEP, PrEP navigation, Doxy-PEP, long-acting injectables, HIV care and management, HIV treatment innovation, viral hepatitis, Mpox, LGBTQ health, drug user health, health equity, and healthcare access.

Intern Responsibilities May Include:

• Providing key logistical support to HealthHIV staff related to education and training initiatives with healthcare organizations and healthcare providers
• Conducting health services research and analysis to assess and respond to educational needs
• Supporting the development of presentations and training materials for medical professional education
• Gathering activity/ program data and reporting on findings
• Participating on webinars and calls with governmental, academic, and nonprofit agencies
• Supporting grant proposal development/writing (including conducting needs assessments and original research)
• Providing overall administrative support as needed to HealthHIV staff

Desired Intern Qualifications:

• A strong interest in health care, health policy, or public health
• Excellent writing skills and research capabilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint
• Proficiency in Google workspace (Slides, Sheets, Docs)
• Ability to think creatively and work well in groups
• Strong organizational skills 
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously 
• Willingness and ability to work autonomously, with direction and support 
• 20-30 hours/week availability
