Navigating Patients to Same-Day PrEP

October 28 @ 4:30 pm–5:30 pm EDT

This 60-minute webinar equips clinicians and allied health professionals with practical strategies for navigating their patients to same-day or rapid-start PrEP in their practices. Participants will explore how meeting patients where they are—by offering PrEP initiation at the point of care—reduces barriers to HIV prevention and improves uptake. Topics will include: how to assess patient readiness for rapid-start PrEP; navigating insurance coverage and patient assistance programs to minimize delays in medication access; and, building processes and the rapport needed to support follow-up and long-term adherence. Attendees will also be introduced to existing tools and models, including HealthHIV’s PrEP readiness assessment and conversation guide, that can be readily implemented in clinical workflows to streamline the path from patient interest to same-day PrEP initiation.
