This episode provides a look into the rising cases of HIV amongst Black Women and why the numbers are climbing due to stigma.

Learning Objectives
  • Describe at least two reasons why stigma contributes to the rising cases of HIV among Black women.
  • Identify at least three strategies to address and reduce stigma surrounding HIV in the Black community, specifically among women.
Faculty

Robbin Alexander is a Lead Community Health Worker who has been doing this work at Sinai Hospital for 24 years. She has been working in the field of HIV/AIDS for the past 30 plus years. Robin is a mother of one and grandmother of two granddaughters. She is a certified Critical Medical Needs Program Navigator for the Office Of Home Energy. She works with clients who are infected and affected with the challenge of HIV. Robbin loves working and helping her clients obtain a suppressed viral load and to see them live healthier happier lives. She helps her clients obtain stable housing and health insurance, find resources to get food, and so much more.
