What is the State of Aging with HIV?
Are you a person aging with HIV or part of the healthcare workforce caring for people aging with HIV? Then you know that as people with HIV age, they often face unique challenges—from managing long-term complications of HIV to coordinating complex healthcare needs.
To enhance care coordination and address the clinical and social challenges associated with aging with HIV, HealthHIV has launched the Fifth Annual State of Aging with HIV™ National Survey. This survey seeks perspectives on aging with HIV from people in one or both of the following groups:
- People aging with HIV—particularly those who have been living with HIV for 15 years or more (including long-term and lifetime survivors), and adults aged 50 and older, with a specific focus on those aged 65 and above.
- Healthcare providers working with the HIV and aging community.
Your input will directly shape the future of HIV care and HealthHIV’s Pozitively Aging program.
Take the SurveyResearch
The National Resource Center for Care Coordination and Healthy Aging with HIV conducts unique and original research and evaluation to advance care coordination for people living and aging with HIV.

HealthHIV State of Aging with HIV™ Fourth Annual National Survey
HealthHIV’s Fourth Annual State of Aging with HIV™ National Survey examines crucial issues facing long-term survivors and adults aging with HIV. For the first time, this survey has two population focuses—one that reached the PAWH community and one that reached the workforce that provides health and human services to the population.

HealthHIV State of Aging with HIV™ Third Annual National Survey
HealthHIV’s Third Annual State of Aging with HIV™ National Survey was developed to gather information on the current experiences of OPWH in the U.S. We heard from hundreds of people across the country who shared information about their personal health journey and their understanding of the most pressing needs facing adults aging with HIV.

HealthHIV State of Aging with HIV™ Second Annual National Survey
Living with HIV can be challenging at any age. However, for older PWH, contending with the effects of aging and chronic inflammation issues can have a force multiplier effect. To further understand these experiences, the HealthHIV’s Second State of Aging with HIV™ National Survey was developed to provide a greater insight into the effects of aging with HIV.

HealthHIV State of Aging with HIV™ Inaugural Annual National Survey
The number of people aging with HIV is rapidly increasing, and care coordination is vital in maintaining optimal health. The inaugural HealthHIV State of Aging with HIV™ national survey was developed to capture the experiences and assess the needs of PWH over 50 and better inform training needs for providers as it relates to care coordination as part of HealthHIV’s Pozitively Aging program.
