Where can I go to participate in HIVPCP?
Create an account on www.ehealthhiv.org. The HIVPCP modules will be available to you once you have established an account.
Is there a cost to participate in HIVPCP?
No, there is no cost to participate in the HIVPCP program.
How much time will be necessary to complete each module?
Modules 1-5, 7 and 8 are 60 minutes each. Module 6 is 90 minutes.
Does this certification offer CE/CEUs? How many?
Up to 8.5 continuing education credits are available (CME, MOC, NCPD, CPE, and IPCE).
Who can participate?
HIV care providers (MD, DO, NP, PA), Infectious disease specialists, internists, primary care providers, nurses, pharmacists, and providers of care for patients at risk of acquiring or transmitting HIV.
I have participated in the past, do I have to complete the modules again?
Yes. The modules have been updated and 2 additional modules were added. Also, the HIVPCP program is now a certification program — due to this change, all participants will have to complete the full program to receive a certification. In future years, only updates or new modules will be required to maintain certification.
I see you have added modules 7 and 8, do I have to complete modules 1-6 again?
Modules 1-5 have been updated and expanded and must be completed. If you have completed module 6 since July 2021, you will not need to re-complete that module.
I want to be listed in the National HIVPCP Directory, how do I do that?
Complete all 8 modules and complete the final evaluation and certificate request. Once complete, you will be able to confirm your details for the directory.
What gets displayed when my name is added to the directory? How will people find me in the directory?
Your name, business address, phone number, and work email are displayed. You have an opportunity to review your directory listing after you complete all 8 modules. Patients and consumers can search by name and location to identify HIVPCP Certified Providers™ in their area.
How long will my name/credentials be listed in the directory?
After successful completion of the HIVPCP certification, your listing will remain active through March 20, 2023. HIVPCP Certified Providers™ must participate in clinical updates to maintain active status, if clinical updates are necessary.
Will I receive any materials to help me promote my HIVPCP certification?
All HIVPCP Certified Providers™ will receive an online promotional toolkit.
