SUMMARY:A Switch in Time: State-of-the-Art Strategies for ART Modification in People with Virologically Suppressed HIV
DESCRIPTION:Most people living with HIV in your practice are virologically suppressed and doing well\, which raises the questions of when to change an antiretroviral regimen that is working\, and why. The case for switching rests on subtle differences in tolerability\, metabolic effects\, drug–drug interactions\, resistance barrier\, and mode of administration that can be decisive for a given individual. In this interactive\, case-based symposium\, an expert faculty panel will work through commonly encountered clinical scenarios to reveal how and why they choose among an expanded array of switch options. \nNot an official event of IDWeek. Not sponsored\, endorsed\, or accredited by IDWeek. This simulcast is free to attend and open to anyone. \nPhysicians: maximum of 1.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™\nPharmacists: 1.50 contact hours (0.15 CEUs)\nNurse Practitioners/Nurses: 1.50 Nursing contact hours \nThis activity is intended for physicians\, pharmacists\, registered nurses\, and other healthcare professionals who provide care for people living with HIV.

SUMMARY:Navigating Patients to Same-Day PrEP
DESCRIPTION:This 60-minute webinar equips clinicians and allied health professionals with practical strategies for navigating their patients to same-day or rapid-start PrEP in their practices. Participants will explore how meeting patients where they are—by offering PrEP initiation at the point of care—reduces barriers to HIV prevention and improves uptake. Topics will include: how to assess patient readiness for rapid-start PrEP; navigating insurance coverage and patient assistance programs to minimize delays in medication access; and\, building processes and the rapport needed to support follow-up and long-term adherence. Attendees will also be introduced to existing tools and models\, including HealthHIV’s PrEP readiness assessment and conversation guide\, that can be readily implemented in clinical workflows to streamline the path from patient interest to same-day PrEP initiation. \n\n\n\nLearning Objectives\n\n\n\n\nIdentify the clinical and public health benefits of same-day PrEP for meeting patients where they are.\n\n\n\nApply a structured approach to assessing patient readiness for same-day PrEP initiation.\n\n\n\nIdentify strategies for navigating insurance coverage and patient assistance programs to support timely medication access.\n\n\n\nUtilize practical tools and models to build processes and rapport that support patient follow-up and long-term adherence.\n\n\n\n\nFaculty\n\n\n\n\nDr. Steven K.
