Title: Capacity Building Assistance (CBA) Coordinator: HIV Prevention and Care

The Capacity Building Assistance (CBA) Coordinator will support HealthHIV’s CBA Managers to provide training and targeted CBA to state and local health departments, community-based organizations, health centers, and other health services organizations providing HIV, sexually transmitted disease and infection (STD and STI), viral hepatitis (HAV, HBV, HCV), and behavioral and mental health services.
HealthHIV CBA services are designed to improve the programmatic, clinical, and administrative capacity of organizations and clinical providers. The CBA Coordinator will support the development of educational materials and implementation of in-person and online trainings, workshops, and webinars to improve the knowledge, skills, and competencies of CBA recipients. The CBA Coordinator will ensure all logistics associated with in-person and online training programs are complete, including coordination of speakers, content, participant recruitment and communications. They also will assist with the facilitation of state-of-the-science education and training for a variety of providers (clinical, case managers, navigators, other front-line providers); conduct patient education forums and empowerment campaigns; and improve the adoption of care coordination models through targeted and tailored CBA efforts. Specialization in generational health, health equity, social justice, racial and ethnic minority health, and LGBTQ+ health is strongly desired.
The CBA Coordinator additionally will support research and evaluation activities, helping to leverage novel approaches to data collection for CBA needs assessments and continuous quality assurance, and HIV prevention and care improvement activities. The successful candidate will help interpret and visualize data, supporting the writing of capacity and needs assessments and grant reports.
BA or BS in public health, behavioral health, health administration or a related field required. Minimum of 2 years related work experience combined with the ability to demonstrate the needed skills and abilities for this position. The applicant will have experience coordinating technical assistance, capacity building assistance programs and/or education and training activities. Strong competencies in the field of HIV prevention and care, sexual and behavioral health, and implementation of public health interventions is desired. It is recommended that the applicant have knowledge and skills to support CBA in the areas of HIV prevention and care strategies; aging with chronic conditions, opioid use disorder and behavioral health; and/or viral hepatitis. Applicants should have experience implementing online education and/or training programs.
This full-time position is based at HealthHIV’s Washington, DC office, and therefore prefer that the employee live in the Washington, DC area. Remote work from outside of the DC area may be considered.
