Capacity Building Assistance
HealthHIV boasts a proven history building the capacity of organizations and health professionals serving racial/ethnic minority communities and other vulnerable populations.
Rooted in the philosophy of holistic, integrated, patient-centered care, HealthHIV capacity building efforts help develop an organization’s ability to improve patient outcomes and increase efficiencies, while ensuring organizational sustainability. HealthHIV has extensive federal and state government-funded program experience and implements HIV-specific CBA and eLearning training programs independently and concurrently for CDC, HRSA, health departments, and CBOs on stigma-related topics.
HealthHIV builds the capacity of the public health workforce by applying state-of-the art and state-of-the-sciences approaches to healthcare delivery, through CBA initiatives addressing opioid use and overdose prevention (DC Engage and Harm Reduction Learning Institute), initiatives aimed at increasing the capacity of the HIV prevention workforce in DC (Effi Barry Training Institute and the Ryan White Training Center), and previously strengthened the community health worker workforce in Maryland through the Together Elevating and Advancing Community Health (TEACH) Program. Each initiative prioritizes increasing access to stigma-free, high-quality care, treatment, and prevention services for people in the U.S. to promote a culture of anti-stigma.
