Advocacy
HealthHIV brings a re-energized approach to addressing the advocacy agenda in order to improve health disparities, treat the medically underserved, advance chronic disease management, and redefine how HIV fits into a broader health care debate.
HealthHIV leads the National Resource Center for Care Coordination and Pozitively Aging with HIV, which builds the capacity of HIV and primary care providers to coordinate care for people living and aging with HIV across a lifetime. This program enhances provider and patient knowledge related to the experiences of PWH over 50 and the comanagement of conditions associated with aging with HIV through data collection and medical education.
HealthHIV—along with the National Coalition for LGBTQ Health—seeks to better align care and prevention service delivery with existing evidence-based, culturally sensitive standards of care for LGBTQ people to improve health outcomes and qualities of life.
We engage partners across all levels of advocacy, from federal and state-specific issues, to health systems and payers, providers and manufacturers. But most of all, we engage with our communities to drive our work.
